About Hayberry Farm

Under NEW management as of 2025!

History

With a long history as farmland, this beautiful U-pick farm was originally cleared for sheep grazing. From the 1940s to the turn of the century it operated as a family dairy farm.

The first blueberries arrived in 2008, after the previous owners spent a year preparing the soil for planting. Now the fields host eleven varieties of blueberries, fourteen varieties of Lavendula Angustifolia, perennial herbs and flowers, as well as acres of hazelnut & chestnuts.

Water from surrounding hills pass through Shingle Hollow Brook and irrigates the fields.  The wetland is home to great blue heron, geese, ducks, red-winged blackbirds and other native birds, amphibians, insects and small mammals. We count on our honey bees and equally important native bees and bumble bees, to pollinate the berries and other crops.

Current Ownership

In 2024 Hayberry Farm was donated to Grow Big Trees, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the ecological stewardship of the farm & forest. Under this new management, Hayberry will continue to operate as a U-pick berry farm while also offering expanding educational opportunities for those interested in agroforestry.
